How to use this calculator

  1. Enter face principal, nominal annual rate (%), monthly periods, fees withheld from proceeds.
  2. Choose a display currency, then select Calculate. Results also update after a brief pause while you edit.
  3. Read the result with the assumptions below. Export details or save a second scenario to compare your choices.

Formula and method

Solve net proceeds = monthly payment × discounted-payment factor for the monthly cash-flow rate. Nominal annual equivalent = monthly rate × 12; effective annual = (1 + monthly rate)^12 − 1.

Assumptions and limitations

Fixed monthly loan payments and upfront withheld fees. This is an economic cash-flow calculation, not a regulated APR/APRC disclosure or country-specific compliance result.

Worked example

With no fees, a nominal 12% loan with monthly interest has a monthly cash-flow rate of 1%, nominal annual equivalent of 12% and effective annual cost about 12.6825%.

What the result means

Estimate the cash-flow borrowing rate when fees reduce the cash you receive.
