How to use this calculator

  1. Enter starting amount, monthly contribution, nominal annual rate (%), number of months, contribution timing.
  2. Choose a display currency, then select Calculate. Results also update after a brief pause while you edit.
  3. Read the result with the assumptions below. Export details or save a second scenario to compare your choices.

Formula and method

FV = P(1 + r)^n + C × ((1 + r)^n − 1) / r. Multiply only the deposit part by (1 + r) for beginning-of-month deposits. At r = 0, FV = P + C × n.

Assumptions and limitations

Returns are an editable constant nominal annual scenario, divided by 12; actual investment returns fluctuate. Monthly contributions stay constant. No fund fees, taxes or inflation are deducted.

Worked example

Saving 100 monthly for 12 months at 0% results in 1,200, regardless of contribution timing.

What the result means

Separate your contributed money from modeled growth. A positive sample return is an illustration, not a forecast or guaranteed SIP return.

Common questions

Are SIP returns guaranteed?

No. This is a fixed-return scenario, not an estimate of a particular fund.

Why does deposit timing matter?

A beginning-of-month deposit compounds for one more month than an end-of-month deposit.
